How do admissions work?
You visit, apply from November, we talk with your child, and you hear in early March.
When are the open houses and visits?
There are open houses in October and January. Visit days run most months from September to March, in the morning.
Can we visit before applying?
Yes. The visit comes first, and you do not need an application. Children may come with you.
Does my child need to know Spanish to start?
No. In kindergarten children learn through songs, gestures and stories, and teachers speak Spanish to them from the first day. For an older grade, we talk with you and your child about the grade that fits.
We speak Spanish at home. What will my child learn here?
Your child will read and write Spanish in class, and learn English in a daily block of its own from grade 2. Each grade's teachers tell you how your child is doing at conferences.
What is a day like?
The day opens at 8:15 a.m. with a circle in Spanish. Mornings are mostly in Spanish, and afternoons bring English and the arts. Dismissal is at 3:15 p.m.
How does tuition work and how do I ask about financial aid?
Tuition is set for the school year, and the office gives its figures at a visit. Financial aid is available; the form comes with the application, and the office explains how to fill it in.
How big are the classes?
Each grade has its own class, with a Spanish teacher and an English teacher who know every child by name.
Is there before and after care?
Yes: in the morning from 7:30 a.m. and in the afternoon until 5:30 p.m., for working families.
How does the school talk with families?
By WhatsApp, phone and letter, in Spanish and English. The teacher calls when there is something to tell, and there are conferences with each family through the year.
